It’s the first of June, and we’re coming to you live from our new favourite spot: Trini Bites

These guys just opened, and their cooking is about as spicy as the weather in the 6ix these days.

Trini Bites is truly a family affair.  Parents Sita and Bobby work the kitchen.  Experienced caterers, they’re brining their recipes from Scarborough to Scarborough.  Front of house is staffed by their kids, Chris & Katrina.  They had day jobs and had been creating YouTube vlog content of their parent’s culinary prowess before landing in their new Kingston Road bricks & mortar.  It’s always service with a smile!  We’re thrilled they’re here!

Not surprisingly, their pepper really packs a punch.  Of course, we ask them to bring the heat.  Apple J to the rescue!!!

Curry rice is always in style.  Get in our belly!

And we learn that white rice is preferred in Port of Spain as it doesn’t take away from the star of the show.  Try the duck!

Oh, and don’t sleep on their Aloo Pie.  These handhelds are the stuff dreams are made of.  We crave them all week long.

Fried crunchy, all the good stuff collects at the bottom for an amazing final bite!  Pro tip: add channa!
