Forty-one, forty-two, forty-three… as the numbered streets along Lake Shore cede into Mississauga, the Lakeview ’hood has a hidden gem that’s worth pulling over for.
Which is a shame, because tucked inside that forgettable strip is Suzie’s Jamaican Jerk. The kind of place that doesn’t advertise, doesn’t chase, doesn’t need to. Family-run, no pretense. Just smoke, spice, and time doing what they do best.
We’ve blown past it more times than we’d like to admit and still end up pulling in more often than not. High conversion rate. The Toronto Food Blog keeps it simple on places like this. Three things matter & Suzie nails the trifecta…
Jerk pork… dark, sticky, smoky. Puts the bark in your bite,
Curry goat… slow, rich, fall-off-the-bone. We love it with their steamed veggies to let the juices flow.
Service… salt of the earth
We keep saying we’ll branch out. Weekend fish, something new. Never do. Because when the fundamentals hit like this, you don’t go exploring… you lock in. And maybe one day we’ll actually make that turn into the driveway instead of flying past it like idiots. Or maybe that’s part of it. Some places don’t need you to arrive properly. They just need you to keep coming back.
