You really can’t go wrong heading to St. Clair West on #tacotuesday. The ‘hood is renown for its taquerias. The spot we like to frequent when we’re looking for a little bit of atmosphere is Atomic 10. Tucked away just off the strip, it’s an elevated vibe (adorned in neon).
Menu wise… Tacos, tostones, platos and an extensive cocktail list tick all the boxes! This ain’t no April Fools’
We often sit at the bar (no complaints), as tables are typically packed with a combination of patrons… either lovebirds on a quiet date (trying to get to first base) or larger tables hosting more raucous, cocktail-fueled ladies’ nights.
You can tell a lot about a place based on their fish tacos. And Atomic 10 servers bangers only, two different ways. Don’t sleep on their Pad Thai style. Love the crunchy bean sprouts!
When it comes to tacos, though, the Toronto Food Blog usually skews turf over surf. Carne Asada tacos are our current faves. Three to an order, these bad boys are filled to capacity between two fresh corn tortillas. Marinated striploin, pico de gallo and guacamole load the bases. But it’s the bite of salty feta that really make these memorable.
Platos are our go-to. Every-single-time! Food porn, really. It’s a four-step process…
First, choose your protein: churrasco steak, chicken adobo, lechon, fried chicken, Korean short rib, daily veggie option.
Then pick any three sides: guacamole, plantain, black beans, yuca fries, beet salad. Rice is included.
Next, try and finish everything on the plate. This is one solid feed!
Finally, wash everything down with a signature margarita or Mexican cerveza.
