It’s the first day of May!  Happy birthday, Molly!  To celebrate, we’re heading to Lakeshore Super Submarine… a New Toronto institution that’s been cranking out old school classics for close to 50 years.

It’s still real easy to get #lunchunder10bucks here.  George Kozaris has manned the shop solo since the ’70s.  His prices, signage, décor, sandwich offerings, sense of humour and hockey sensibilities seem to be stuck in a somewhat of a time warp.  And we wouldn’t have it any other way;)

Make no mistake, Lakeshore Super Submarine does one thing really, really well.  There are only subs on the menu, so don’t get any crazy ideas.  Less is more.  The only decisions you’ll need to ask yourself relate to size, toppings, and whether you fancy something cold or something hot.  “Final answer?” asks George after seemingly every order.

Assorted, turkey, roast beef, tuna, corned beef, ham, hero, salami, veggies & cheese, pizza, meatball, rib, BLT…

Lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, hot peppers, mayo, mustard, homemade sub sauce…

Six-inch?  Footlong?  Double the meat (recommended for the assorted)?

At literally half the cost of other subs in town, this cheap & cheerful trip down memory lane is worthy of repeat visits.  Just go!!!
