Though there are a lot (and I mean a lot) of great places to get pizza on College Street, Albany Gourmet Pizza ranks right up there as one of the neighborhood’s best (certainly for delivery).
Tucked away in the No Frills parking lot where College meets Dundas, Albany Gourmet Pizza has 5 great delivery ‘Zas that will cover any aficionado’s combination preference.
For the vegetarian lover, The Albany Special is generously covered with Broccoli, Black Olives, Mushrooms, Red Peppers and Sliced Tomato. (Large $19.90)
Their Pizza Alla Toscana is a thin-crust favorite. Covered in Marinated Beef Tenderloin, Roasted Red Pepper, Caramelized Onion and Feta Cheese, this is one of their best-sellers for a reason… and is an amazing left-over when served cold the next day. (Large $23.90)
Every pizza place has a Meat Lovers, and Albany’s rendition is no slouch. Pepperoni, Sausage, Prosciutto, Bacon and Ground Beef are piled high atop a crispy thin crust and the house Tomato Sauce. (Large $23.90)
If you’re feelin’ seafood, the Marinara Pizza is dressed with a medley of Shrimp, Clams and Smoked Salmon. Best enjoyed with a knife and fork, this beauty is not as fishy-tasting as it sounds thanks to the heaps of Feta Cheese crumbled on top. (Large $24.90)
Finally, the piece de resistance might just have to be their Albany Special. A base layer of Artichoke Pesto Sauce is smothered with Spinach, Prosciutto, Marinated Artichokes, Mushrooms and Red Peppers, only to be finished off with a generous top-layer of Asiago Cheese. (Large $27.90)
In the ever-competitive West End pizza game, Albany Gourmet Pizza really stands out as a must-try for delivery. Generous with the toppings, the pizzas are a little on the pricey side. As such, they offer a free upgrade on Wednesdays & Thursdays (Extra-Large for the price of a Large, etc.) and always throw in free garlic bread on any order over $20. Why not place an order for your upcoming Super Bowl party? That’s what we plan to do.
