Mama’s Boys Burgers ~ 480 Danforth Rd (Scarborough) ~ 416-269-6262

Wednesdays in Scarborough has quickly become our favorite day of the week.  This is due, in large part, to visiting places like Mama’s Boys Burgers.  We just love family-run holes-in-the-wall where you can get #lunchunder10bucks with ease.  This is that kinda place.  This is our kinda place.  A Scarborough institution for the past decade, Mama knows burgers & Mama knows Greek food.  What’s not to like?

The burgers at Mama’s Boys often frequent the Toronto Food Blog’s “Best Of” lists.  Maybe it’s the Worcestershire, maybe it’s the price-tag, maybe it’s the enormity of the patties.  For the record, this is not your average downtown smash burger.  This is a Scarborough special.  This is a roll-up-your-sleeves two-hander that requires lots of napkins.  They do have a smaller iteration for the kiddos (see below).  French fries are fresh-cut and hit the oil twice.  Decent gravy is always just an arm’s length away.  And don’t sleep their feta fries… this is a Greek spot after all.

Speaking of which, we’ll never shy away from coming to Mama’s Boys for souvlaki.  And though roasted potatoes are a thing of absolute beauty,  these days we tend to opt for the “healthier” salad option.  Topping a legit Greek salad with a hefty chicken souvlaki skewer is always a good time.  Pro tip:  if you’re feeling a little wild, ask for some hot peppers on that salad;)

The Toronto Food Blog is aligned with supporting local small business as much as we can right now.  Who knows how long it will be before dining rooms open again with COVID still in full effect?  We like to dial-in our orders at Mama’s Boys and pick everything up in person.  Saves both parties the delivery app. charges, and puts a more personal touch on supporting local.
